GN-007 Arios Gundam

by 17:13

"A transformable gundam". That's the main idea behind the few similar gundams that share this feature through out the Gundam universe. A disruptor and fast moving vehicle/gundam, able to transform to a commonly plane shaped vehicle, they move around the battlefield at blinding speeds creating confusion among enemy ranks.

First operational in Kidou Senshi Gundam 00 S2, Arios wasn't launched at first with it's pilot. The unit's operator, Allelujah Haptism, was captured by the Federation, only to be rescued by the Celestial Being's blitz attack on the prison. Arios was deployed to rendevous with Hallelujah to facilitate his escape and to return as a Gundam Meister.

Arios, the successor of Kyrios, is the next generation of gundams to come. A combat support type, it weaves around the field in search of targets. Able to handle close-combat missions as well as solo and stealth missions, it is a very versatile gundam in the battlefield.

Unit Design

Well, firstly, to who ever first laid eyes on Arios, would have noticed that Arios is a lot broader than it's predecessor. This is due to the transformable "claws" located on the shoulder of the unit.

Similar to Kyrios which has it's left hand full with the pincer claw shield, this feature has been transferred to the shoulder parts. Will explain in greater detail in a the Weaponry section.

However, it still retains its sharp design, having many sharp edges and an ariel design. The head of the unit has 4 'horns' compared to other gundams, another interesting design. Other than that, it has "GN Drives" (or a more compact version as it doesn't have a huge solar drive) placed at the both leg units.

Weaponry System.

Different from Kyrios, it carries an upgraded version of the previous main gun, the GN Twin Beam Rifle II. Supporting 2 barrels, it fires at an amazing rate with condensed GN particles.
Also, at some point of time, it was later equipped with another, supporting 2 beam rifles.

Also, it carries 2 GN Sub-Machine Guns under the forearm unit of Arios. These 2 weapons are entirely new to the Gundam 00 universe as they prove to be the other main weapon Arios uses. And it has changed the way Arios moves and fights, no longer relying on a hand-held weapon. One thing for sure, it has surpassed the firing rate of the GN Twin Beam Rifle it has, giving the unit lethal speed to fit this type of mobile suit.

Also included in its armaments are 2 GN Sabers at the leg units. However, Allelujah prefers to utilize energy weapons rather than saber as they are hardly seen.

Apart from those, not much attention is paid to the defense of the unit. Located on the shoulders of the unit, there are GN Beam Shields for protection instead of its predecessor. Despite it's very lacking defense, its speed and agility makes up for this weak point.

As said earlier, Kyrios previously had the GN Shield which had taken up the left hand. Now, the Kyrios has the same concept, GN Beam Shield, installed in the fighter mode. When in flight mode, it is able to deploy its claw-like pincers onto the enemy, clamping down on the hull of the mobile suit, either taking them away from the battle zone or tearing them apart with its GN particle infused pincer.

There must have been many hardships of not being able to fully utilize the Arios as Allelujah is no longer a Super Soilder, thanks to the head injury preventing Hallelujah, his alter ego, to awaken in the previous season's operation.

To make up for this, Celestial Being attached a support/addition unit to the Arios.
The GNR-101A GN Archer.

When combined, it becomes the GNR-101A Archer Arios.
This new unit also functions as a GN Tail Booster, powering up the Arios for more speed, more firepower and more maneuverability.

However, I'll leave that to another post for more in depth details.

The Arios Gundam also did get a make over for the final battle. This included some awesome armaments that really change the firepower of the Arios, GN-007GNHW/M Arios Gundam.
Read here to know more about the HW (Heavy Weapons) version.

Next gundam post; GN-008 Seravee Gundam

Look forward to it~!

GN-006 Cherudim Gundam

by 22:46

Like in all Gundam universes, there has always been a long range type in one of the main cast of gundams. With their annoying long range fire, they have the best accuracy and experts at breaking ranks and front-line troops moral.

First debuted in Kidou Senshi Gundam 00 S2, Cherudim was assigned to the new Lockon Stratos aka, Lyle Dylandy, the brother of the late Neil Dylandy who perished bravely at the end of S1.

Now following his brothers footstep to change the future, he joins Celestial Being's ranks as the main Sniper unit and as a Gundam Meister. Now on to Cherudim~!

If you have noticed, Cherudim has a really simple outline. Not much can be said about the figure or features as most of it's feature lie in it's weaponry. The only weird thing is the fact that its GN Drive is located at the tail of the unit. No idea why, ask Sunrise...

Next: Weaponry System

Like any Sniper and long range support unit, Cherudim carry it's most noticeable feature, the GN Sniper Gun II. Fold-able to support a gattling version of the rifle with increased rate of fire, it can be stored on the right arm of the unit, as a holding place.

With an interior lock-on system installed in the cockpit, the pilot is able to search targets with ease, shooting down enemy's with an Sniper Eye (Third Eye) located at the forehead of the unit coupled with the Holographic Sniping System that creates a holographic screen around the unit's head. Revealed only when the unit uses extremely long range fire, it is definitely a fearsome gundam, able to pick your head off from a horizon you can't see.

Apart from the missile pods located at the front skirting of the unit, the only other weapon it has for close to mid range combat is the GN Beam Pistols II, stored at the back of the Cherudim.
Changeable to hand-held axes, they make up as one of the only close range armaments as it doesn't even have a GN Saber.

However, it makes up in other areas as it has one of the most famous systems installed on board the Cherudim. The Dragoon System.

Well, not really...

Now called the Bit Control System, the 9 GN Shield Bits operate faster than the normal human eye can keep up, as it distorts enemy infantry as it moves around the battlefield like flies on a rotten corps. Except, these flies hurt alot... with different modes to suit any battle situation, controlled mainly by Haro.

For the Defense Mode, each shield bit is specially layered heavily to withstand any ranged projectile beam attacks. For especially larger beams, these bits combine to form a larger shield or break up to defend multiple shots. However, they do have a certain limit of punishment it can take...

Their functions also included an Assault Mode, as each shield bit is fitted with beam technology, capable of hailing a storm of relentless beam attacks at every blind spot. Flying around the battlefield, they disrupt and create confusion within enemy ranks.

As for the Trans-Am system, it gives the Cherudim a 3x output rating compared to its normal state. It also applies to the speed, firing rate and Shield Bits. The unit is faster and fires at even longer distances with a boost in speed for the already fast shield bits.

This is a standard version of the Cherudim as a later version has already appeared, the GN-006GNHW/R Cherudim Gundam. It has more armaments installed compared to this one so have a look for yourself.

That's all for now. Will continue with a summary of GN-007 Arios Gundam in the next gundam post

Look forward to it~!

Mio-nic Maniacal Madness~!

by 14:46

This is a response to the previous post, "New Notaeable Nendoroids~!"

Weeks after the K-ON! series had ended, the fans (including me) have already begun stock piling on every K-ON merchandise they can possibly find on the net. Ranging from cups to towels, the merchandising business is doing pretty well, thanks to KyoAni marketing of course. But now, the recently crowned SaiMoe Queen, Akiyama Mio, and her friends have finally started to emerge from the figure product line.

First to come out was the Nendoroid Akiyama Mio. Debuting in Nov 09, she stands at approx 10cm with interchangeable features and effects like her lefty bass guitar and a mini amplifier.

As stated in my previous post, New Noteable Nendoroids~!, this is definitely one of the nendorons I would love to collect.

But all pre-order slot were taken up... in less than 2 days... (*SOB* *SOB*) and thought I had to resort to waiting for the Nov stock.

Until another distributor was accepting orders. LUCKY~!

And I have just pre-ordered her.

So all that's left is to wait for the arrival of Nov...... Somehow, when waiting for something, it never comes any faster huh? Funny how that works...

On another happy note, a 1/8 scale version of Mio was recently available for pre-order as well. By expert figurine maker, Alter, she is pre-painted with her lefty-bass guitar and a pick on the left hand.

Despite the cuteness of her face...
Despite the awesome detailing and time that went in to her...

Despite the ''moe...moe...kyun!'' tune running in my head...

I RESIST! (with reason of course)

Well, mainly due to my sudden decrease in funds also...

Ever since the series had ended, the anime industry has been ravaged by the devoted otakus on a global scale. Not only being able to sell almost every and any product with a K-ON! print on it, the hype of the series will be long before it hits rock bottom.

My prediction is that these are the few 'taste testers' for the public. Testing how we would react and whether we would jump at the bait.

So I shall wait for other versions to come out as I am quite sure there is in the future. For example; Mio in maid costume... An epic win...

But I'm not saying the upcoming 1/8 scale version is not any good. Awesome detailing with free-flow hair design and effects such as the life-like guitar is a sure win~!

I just don't have the funds right now since i'm already pre-ordering Saber...

Next is probably Hirasawa Yui with more to come, so keep a look out! (I'm still waiting for my neko, Azu-nyan~!)

So decide well~!(or just get them all...) Look forward to more~!

Fate/stay Night Movie~! "Unlimited Blades Work" Arc Summary~!

by 01:18
For those who have no idea what "Fate/stay Night" is, please press "backspace" on your keyboard now to know more...

Fate/stay Night, a series adapted from the manga, was produced with 24 episodes by Type-moon studios. Following the aftermath of this hit, the name of this show still lives on in the merchandises that have yet to come (or already available).

After selling other games such as "Fate/hollow ataraxia" and "Fate/tiger colosseum", Type-moon has announced, according to Sankaku, that a movie is in the works for Fate/stay night.

Little is known about the movie, except for the release date, which is set to grace viewers on the 23rd of January of 2010, and that it covers the "Unlimited Blades Works" arc.

Now, don't be confused as it is NOT a adaptation of the series to a movie. Fate/stay night has multiple endings one can take using 3 arcs.

Fate/stay night (series) uses the Fate arc.
Fate/stay night (movie) uses the Unlimited Blade Works arc

They are almost identical but very different in a way. So I shall explain in a way even an idiot could understand (this assumes that he/she has already watch the Fate series)

Please stop reading here if you do not wish to have the excitement taken away from you when it DOES come out.
