Now Loading.......Post!!

Travelling all the way from Cathia to bring you news on what's happening in the world.
Or maybe just answering my distress signal of an update.
Will be busy for the next few days (assignment fever), so posts will be queued until both criteria are met;
  1. I have time
  2. My f@rking local ISP stops throttling our already pathetic bandwidth.
*Seiyuu Comparisons #8 up by next week at earliest*

Awa Odori Matsuri
Our featured festival of the month. Singled out the largest of the other festivals throughout summer, considering it attracts over 1.3 million tourists annually.

So what's it about? Dancing practically, like a fool.
Although nicked the "Fool's Dance", there's nothing foolish about this, as it's about the same as the Obon festival.

Many regions call their festivals differently, so it's no surprise around this time, over 20 festivals spring up from nowhere, even if they all carry the same message.

I like to call this a celebration of life, really.

Related to this is the lastest advertising of themed posters of "Kara no Kyoukai" from Type-Moon.

Local officials are bracing for the
"local rush + annual tourist + otaku hoards" that are about to descend on Tokushima, from 12/8 to 15/8.

There's been quite a frenzy over such quality posters, making them a jewel in many otaku eyes and causing many posters to disappear overnight and appear on auction sites the next day.

But seriously, who wouldn't want one?

Nekomonogatari release
Latest novel by NisiOisin, Nekomonogatari (Kuro/Black), centers around Hanekawa Tsubasa and her unfolding drama which continues.

Within 5 days from it's release on 28 July, all copies of NisiOisin's latest has sold out, prompting a very receptive audience and fan-base.

The next part, Nekomonogatari (Shiro/White) will be announced in 2011

Continuing-monogatari
Sequels are the all the rage nowadays.

Accompanied with Nekomanogatari novel, is a leaflet pretaining info on NisiOisin's next anime adaptation;
Kizumonogatari.

Kizumonogatari centers around the timeline before Bakemonogatari, as a prelude on Araragi's vampire transformation and Queen of Vampires, Oshino Shinobu.

Another delight to fans of Yabuki Kentaro's fans is the launch of spin-off series to ToLoveRu

With an OVA/series on the way and the manga being resurrected this 4th October, one can pretty much expect the ToLoveRu craze to rise again.

R.I.P OneManga
The ride lasted as long as it could, and what a ride indeed, as it was put rest on the 2nd August 2010

OneManga deserves a special place as it was practically part of my childhood.

Growing up with OnePiece, temporarily becoming a Narutard before moving on, reading on Saturday mornings after looking forward to my fix every Friday...
I'll miss it, as we move onto another online mango browser

Thanks for the freebies and memories....

Now Loading.......SKY!!
Asobi ni Ikuyo! anime OP album recently released by Sphere.

Wasn't a big fan of the show, but things looked better on the 2nd episode and onwards.

Also, the OP for Sengoku Basara 2, infamous for it's historical figures, dancing samurais and Engrish, will be release this 11th August 2010 by T.M. Revolution.
Dam, these guys just rock every song they come up with. ^^

Comic Market (Comiket) 78 (夏)

It's that time of year again, where hordes of ronery individuals emerge from their last hibernation, ready to devour every piece of doujin merchandise and stock up for this coming winter.

As usual, C78's venue will be Tokyo's Big Sight, taking place on the 13/8/2010 (Friday) and for the next 3 days til Sunday.

The horrors of what awaits you at Comiket has been reported and visualized in many media forms, again and again with terrifying accuracy, so I'm not gonna start a post or a guide-to-stay-alive-at-Comiket, as I know there's tons of better reviews and survivor stories on the net. Instead, I'll lead you to one which I recommend, a 4-time visiting survivor/veteran

Each of those 3 days hold their own theme, according to C78 latest listings.

  • Day 1 - "Anime and Yaoi Day" includes all anime related media and ONLY doujin from Shounen Jump (games, seiyuu)
  • Day 2 - "Manga and Yaoi Day" includes all magazines and ONLY doujin from Shounen Sunday (cosplay goodies, niconico, Vocaloid)
  • Day 3 - "Hentai Day" includes 18+ media and original works. (figures, GK's, ita-sha, R-18)
