濡れるツ~!Post

by 15:51
The latest meme to circulate BBs and forums has come in the form of "wetting thy self" in literal translation.
However odd it may seem, other translation options could not properly convey the feelings felt at that moment.

Took a look at my schedule and I won't be around for the last 2 weeks of September due to academic reasons (yea, exams. bummer >_>). I'll post all I can for now in this and the following posts to come during my short but well-deserved break.

Seiyuu Comparisons - Summer 2010 (#9)

by 16:55
Hello peeps. Been awhile since I last posted anything. But I've returned from the dead (literally) to provide goodies. Got loads to catch up, with 3 more posts on queue as we speak. This post is long over due so I'll just handle this comparison first.

So it's already September, the month of squalls. Or typhoon season if you prefer. All that pent up heat has to be released on way or another.

In case you've been under a rock for shelter or just ignorant of the weather lately, the 9th typhoon of the year, or Malou, categorized as a "Severe Tropical Storm" by JMA has hit Eastern Asia pretty hard, starting off with shaving the borders of S.Korea, then a near-complete U-turn back to Japan, hitting the western coast of Fukui Prefecture and going through Central Japan.

Tokyo received it's fair share of the rain that comes with the typhoon on last Thursday, the closest it ever got to the capital. If predictions are on the mark, it should be leaving the eastern coast pretty soon.

On another note, the previous 31st August 2010 was a day of celebrations. Yes, I hail from Malaysia but there's nothing worth celebrating from here. I'm talking about Hatsune Miku's 3rd Birthday! xD

31st marks the release of the VOCALOID2 software with the creation of mascot Miku. Didn't get to celebrate properly, as I had a ton of matters to sort out. Instead, played vocaloid songs all day. Haha. And Miku's present to all those that celebrated her birthday came in the form of the releasing  "Project Diva Hatsune Miku 39's Giving Day" on the very next day, 1st September 2010.

The concert was awesome, making this a must have for all Vocaloid fan's collections.

That's enough of my added info here. More will come in the updates post which is due this weekend.
Here's your huge dose of comparisons, the last of Summer 2010 as we move on to Autumn/Fall's lineup. +

I should stop burdening myself with more and more characters. It's surprisingly tiring having to go through one's own collection and screenshotting a non-blurry portrait of a character.
I keep telling myself to limit only to shows I like for comparison. Well, this is how many turned out. xD.

Seiyuu Comparisons

[Sawashiro Miyuki]
Busujima Saeko                                     Iwasawa Asami

She's becoming quite the regular seiyuu here. Seeing her for the 4th consecutive time.
New plotline for HOTD was weird for me, with the jinja episode coming in front of the Takagi household.

[Fukui Yukari]
Marikawa Shizuka                                   Sarah Adiemus

The healer of the party. Well, I'm not sure what you can heal after getting bitten...

[Takeuchi Junko]
Rika Minami                                  Uzumaki Naruto

Seiyuu Comparisons - Summer 2010 (#8)

by 23:35
W-What!?
Exams are 4 weeks a-away?!
Japan has been enjoying a rather unbearable heatwave that's been going around, forcing many residents to shy away from bustling streets, to the comfort of their air-conditioned rooms.
Of course, now's the best time to kick back, relax, sweat while gulping down a nice Long Island or pantsu-in-a-cup for some, or just hitting the beach and on girls to fight against that imaginary sun hanging above you.

OR you could just head over to the Holy Grail festival, Comiket 78 this weekend, camp prior to the event for 3 nights in a row to secure an ambush position, fight for a few doujin works, while breathing in re-re-re-used oxygen despite the air-conditioning system, only to rub elbows (literally) against sweat-soaked comrades before the rest of a thousand nations of the Persian (Japan) Empire descends upon you...

"Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Plan B sounds a heck lot cooler than relaxing in a building or hanging out on a strip of sand. "

Apologies for the lack of posts this month. I've hit a slump with both assignments and motivation.
Not to mention a certain ISP has been lowering speed for certain files (avi. mkv. mp4.) in their attempts to curb pirating which, I daresay, is pretty futile as I've recently turned to an awesome solution to get my daily fixes.

Since I'm in the same continent as Japan, my fellow countrymen and I are experiencing similar levels of the heatwave, much like the ups and downs of the currently fluctuating economy. Been going to the pool (I wanna go to the beach! TT_TT) recently, to wash off that lingering heat or just staying cooped up in my nest with the air-con unit blowing at 16° Celcius. Yes, it's that bad/hot.....

So it's already August, midway through our summer lineup. Been getting lots of sequel news recently (YES!) for the following seasons to come, but lets return to the subject at hand which is this season. Lots of interesting titles, which are very appropriate for Summer. From bikini-beach episodes to yokai sightings with lots of kaidan banashi
(怪談ばなし, ghost story), these are just the few things that add up to a fun filled Japanese summer..... I think.

I'll be busy next month as exams are creeping up silently, with the days passing ever so speedily. Next comparison will be around the same size (~30 seiyuu) but delayed. However, I'll keep posting bi-weekly new updates to keep this humble blog from falling short of being dead. Follow my Twitter account for more daily news as it's much easier than posting a huge article such as this.(Twitter is on za right ->)

Seiyuu Comparisons

[Nakai Kazuya]
Date Masamune                                                 Roronoa Zoro

GET YOUR GUNS ON and LETS PARTY with more slashing scenes, dancing samurai and insane Engrish. Who else better to voice Date than Zoro from One Piece.
I hope Zoro levels up to 4 swords in the coming arc...

[Hoshi Souichirou]
Sanada Yukimura                                                   Yamato Kira

More bonding sessions with YUKIMURA! and OYAKATA-SAMA!
But then. that's the so called seishun (青春, youth), right?

[Morita Masakazu]
Maeda Keiji                                                  Kurosaki Ichigo

I knew his voice was from somewhere. Just couldn't put it as I lost contact to where the Bleach series is going. Been reading the comic only and it looks like another 30~50 chapters will finish it.

Travelling all the way from Cathia to bring you news on what's happening in the world.
Or maybe just answering my distress signal of an update.
Will be busy for the next few days (assignment fever), so posts will be queued until both criteria are met;
  1. I have time
  2. My f@rking local ISP stops throttling our already pathetic bandwidth.

Wonder Festival 2010 Summer (夏) Highlights

by 02:32
Even though I'm 5,317 km away from the world's second largest economy, with social networking sites, blogs and a little help from my ISP, I feel like I'm already at Wonfes.

I love the Internet. xD

It's 25/7/2010, D-Day, where hordes of fanatic, mindless devotees launch a massive wave-by-wave assault on Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall, with dealers barely holding them off at the defense line.

Scout reports are filling up social networking sites, with the closing of the festival (17:00 GMT +9)

Time to skim through the assassination target list, and narrow down our focus onto the highlights of the event.

Summer Booty + WF'10 Updates

by 02:03
I wonder why the word "loot" is used to describes one's efforts in collecting funds to painstakingly acquire their desired merchandises... It's rather derogative, no?

Anyways, I'll use "booty" instead, since some of my "loot" has some "booty" too. xD

Rei is mine.
That is all.
Voluptuous Rei and the gang rescues to brings my blog back to life, as it was at the edge of death. She fights through boredom and hiatus-ness to bring you some updates from the dead and back.
So listen up! -she says.

Seiyuu Comparisons - Summer 2010 (#7)

by 19:57
After some Ume rain showers, Japan is about to enter it's hottest period, with kiddies on their summer break, bikini-clad ladies jumping around on sandy beaches, some occasional nosebleeds and a rather high humidity to sweat and work out that body.

Ahhh.... how I love Summmer!
Despite the wonderful sunny weather, I'm stuck with a pile of assignments which I've been delaying and procrastinating to do since June. At this rate, phone usages this month will be rather high, as I call up my teammates to work on 5 different projects. Ouch....

But who cares?!
Lets move onto more important issues...

We're already half way through this solstice, but our summer lineup has just begun! And quite a few promising titles are living up to their expectations.

As of now, I'm following 18 series + 10 OVAs, including a few series which have not ended from last spring. Of course, this has led to a bad case of eye-bags, sleep deprivation and the usual symptoms which are to follow. And the FIFA World Cup ain't helping either...

Not that I'm interested in football, but it does come once every 4 years (and the fact I wanna see the fall of Spain and 'Paul the Octopus' get thrown into the shark tank).

But I do have my source of motivation to keep on watching, which comes from Haruka!
*dies*

I did say I was gonna touch on a few... but the number of awesome titles and sequels got the better of me. And doesn't it always? Haha.
Hope your summer has more jiggling bikinis, sandy beaches and a lot wetter than mine. xD

(FYI: In case you haven't noticed by now, all names are arranged with "last + first" sequence.
No, I don't follow western naming. It sounds weird...
Yes, this is how you remember and properly call them in Japan)

Seiyuu Comparisons

[Itou Shizuka]
Ookami Ryouko                                        Katsura Hinagiku
Suprisingly, Itou-san was chosen for a yankeedere character. Not that I'm complaining, but it's a nice change of pace from girlish-voiced characters. Nyaa~!

[Kanae Itou]
Akai Ringo                                              Serizawa Fumino
In case some of you have noticed, she looks like "Little Red Riding Hood"
And in case some of you have NOT noticed, the characters are similar to the story;
a wolf, a red hooded girl and a hunter

[Miyu Irino]
Marino Ryoushi                                           Saji Crossroad
As always, he's been chosen for a "no-balls" character. Well, Saji did find a pair at the ending arc...
